Location
Tierra
de Suenos is located on the south Caribbean coast in the
Puerto Viejo area. We are just 6 km from the town of Puerto
Viejo, in the small bustling village of Playa Chiquita.
Playa Chiquita beach, which is just a few minutes walk from
our bungalows, is home to beautiful white sands, rich coral
reefs and clear blue waters. There are also several small
restaurants & shops in our area. Puerto Viejo and other
spots such as Manzanillo & Punta Uva are all accessible
by bicycle from our place. (and
we've got bike rentals!)

Puerto
Viejo is a laid back beach town that is known for moving
to its own reggae beat. With its 'tranquilo' vibe, friendly
people and lush tropical surroundings we think you will
fall in love with it just as we did. However, Puerto Viejo
is definitely not for everyone but that is what makes it
unique. You can look forward to a relaxing vacation on the
secluded beaches of Playa Chiquita or for those of us who
enjoy a more active holiday, this area has it all. Hiking,
kayaking, discovering exotic flora and fauna, observing
wildlife in their natural refuge, snorkeling or diving among
the many reefs, world-class surfing, biking, eating out
at the excellent local restaurants and cultural visits to
the indigenous peoples. You can even explore Panama on a
day trip!

to Get Here
From
San Jose International Airport, Playa Chiquita is approx
4 1/2 hours by car or bus. There are several options available
to get to Tierra De Suenos.
You
can rent a car and drive from San Jose, we suggest a four-wheel
drive vehicle. Try EuropCar
Rentals or Hola Car Rental.

If
you'd like to leave the driving to someone else, you can
take the Interbus tourist shuttle to our hotel from a hotel
in San Jose or other areas of the country. The cost is approx.
$29pp. Click here

If
you would like a private driver, say if you need to come
straight from the airport, pick-up times are more flexible.
This option is, however, more expensive. We have used Costa
Rica shuttle service which is about $150 each way. Just

You can
also always take the MEPE, which is the local bus line that
runs all over the country. This is the option we personally
use a lot. There are five direct buses from San Jose to
Puerto Viejo de Talamanca from the Terminal Caribe at 6
am, 10 am, 12 Noon, 2 pm and 4 pm. The buses are fairly
new, comfortable and cost approx. $7.50 per person.

Shuttle service is available from Limon airport to Puerto
Viejo.
Feeling
adventurous? Skip the 4 hour drive and ride the rapids to
us! The rafting tour operators will pick you up from San
Jose, take you on a river rafting trip down the Pacuare
River, feed you lunch and drop you off at our place at the
end of the day, cost $95.
